Written Prescriptions
We can also do written prescriptions
Important:
We ask that all repeat prescription requests are submitted online rather than by phone. This is to keep our phone lines free for emergencies. Thank you for your cooperation.
You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines Veterinary (POM-Vs) from the veterinary surgeon or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy. Please ask your ophthalmologist or nurse whether your pet’s medication is applicable to this. Veterinary surgeons can only prescribe POM-Vs for animals under their care. An administration fee applies for each individual written prescription which is payable on collection or postage of the written prescription.
Written prescriptions are not suitable for in-patients or patients requiring immediate treatment. Information on prices of medications and/or written prescriptions will be given upon request.
Eye Vet policy is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions every 6 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances and could be more frequently if the prescribing vet deems it necessary. There will be a consultation fee for a re-examination.
Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
Additional postage fees (first class recorded delivery) applies for all written prescriptions.
We recommend disposing of all eye drop medication after 28 days (or as per the manufacturer’s instructions) and replacing it with a new bottle to ensure the medication remains potent and continues to work for your pet.
