Key Information
Bringing your pet in for treatment can be worrying, however you can rest assured that your pet will be in the best of hands and we’ll care for them as you would.
Ahead of your appointment at Eye Vet it’s helpful to read about what to expect when you visit, how to prepare your pet for any sedation or anaesthesia they may need, the services we provide, and you might also want to learn more about your pet’s condition – such as symptoms, treatments and causes.
Repeat Prescriptions
If your pet is a current Eye Vet patient and has been examined by us in the last 6 months you can request a repeat prescription here.
Referral Process
Your usual vet can refer your pet to us for treatment, they can do this via our website or can call us for urgent referrals.
Emergency Cases
You should initially contact your usual vet who will advise you on whether your pet needs a referral to us. If your pet is already under our care, please contact us directly for any emergency relating to the condition we’re treating them for.
What to Expect
Our client care team will contact you about your pet's appointment and let you know what will happen during your pet’s visit. Our Welcome guide is also available with all the information you’ll need.
Anaesthesia & Sedation
If your pet needs anaesthetic or sedation, you’ll need to prepare them for this before their visit and we’ll also discuss any current medications with you.
Medications
We may prescribe medications such as eye drops or tablets for your pet, and 48 hours should be allowed for repeat medication requests.
Written Prescriptions
Certain medications may be available from a human or online pharmacy, you can ask our ophthalmologist at your appointment if this is the case for your pet’s medication.
Affiliations
At Eye Vet we are affiliated with a number of veterinary professional organisations to ensure we are always up to date on the latest developments in treatment and to continually ensure our high standards of care.
Prices and Payment
Payment is made at the consultation or following treatment at discharge. If your pet is insured, please bring your completed, signed claim form and we can send this off for you.
Price List
A guide to the costs of any diagnostics and treatment can be found here. We will also give you a full written estimate specific to your pet, before any surgery is booked.
