Using your pet insurance at Eye Vet
Whilst your pet is under our care, we’re happy to process a claim on your behalf. You will need to contact your insurance company and obtain from them how to go about making a claim, as many insurance companies accept claims solely online either by email or portal.
If your insurance company only accepts paper claim forms then you will need to bring a completed and signed claim form with you on your first visit to us in order for the veterinary section to be completed following on from your visit. Please allow 7-10 working days for this to be processed.
Consultations, treatments, surgeries and medications are to be paid for at the time of each visit, for which we will submit your claim for re-imbursement back to you once assessed by your insurance company and based on the ‘terms & conditions’ of your policy.
Direct Claims
Direct claims can be arranged with our client care team. We will require your policy details prior to your appointment to be able to set this up. We are currently not able to set up a Direct Claim for Out of Hours appointments.
We charge a non-refundable administration fee of £20 for direct claims which is not claimable from your insurance company.
Eye Vet reserves the right to decline any direct claims which we feel may not be covered by your insurance company.
Outstanding Balance
Following your insurance claim, any outstanding balance on your account remains your responsibility and we reserve the right to request you pay your balance in full at any time during the direct claim agreement, should you breach the direct claim agreement with us. Direct claims that are not settled by your insurance company must be promptly settled.

Anaesthesia and Sedation
If your pet needs anaesthetic or sedation, you’ll need to prepare them for this before their visit and we’ll also discuss any current medications with you.
Prices and Payment
Payment is made at the consultation or following treatment at discharge. When your pet has their consultation, we’ll provide you with a written estimate for any procedures or surgeries that may be needed.
