Client Information

Three dogs in their bed
Owner's pets are seen only as referrals from their own Veterinary surgeon. This is important as they care for the overall health and wellbeing of the animal and need to know all about the eye treatment. They also may have important information to pass over regarding previous health problems.

Soon after your animal is seen for its eye condition a report is sent to your Veterinary surgeon telling them of the diagnosis and treatment your animal is receiving.

The Referral Procedure

Your vet may suggest or you may ask to be referred. We send them a simple form and when we receive it our receptionists will contact you to make an appointment

The appointment consists of a consultation where the animal's eyes are examined. This lasts 20-30 minutes. As some people travel quite a distance or have taken time off we like to do as much as we can on the one day. This may involve other diagnostic tests or minor surgery which may require sedation or general anaesthesia.

This means it is advisable that you do not feed your animal prior to your appointment (with the exception of diabetics). This also means that you may be asked to leave your animal for a couple of hours.
